Rainbow City.

June 26, 2010

There is thriving community of close knitted buildings full of small shops, busy people and a line with the most exciting street food in close proximity to house / work. Looks like part of Tekkon Kinkreet (for those of you that seen this beautiful film) and it’s called Rainbow City. For two weeks it has been the sole destination for lunch breaks while still maintaining many undiscovered culinary pleasures. It’s like a parade of curiosities that you have to try. The setting changes slightly in the afternoon with different tastes on display. So far i haven’t tried any chicken feet (which is a common delicacy here) or duck heads but i did try Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼) (Japanese octopus round fried dumpling, covered with some interesting sauces) yesterday which was exceptionally good.
